Across the sea

STARING OUT ACROSS THE SEA.

IM  ON THE SHORE, DO YOU SEE ME?

ANONYMOUS LADY, WIND IN HER HAIR,

YOU LOOK STRAIGHT THROUGH ME, IM NOT THERE.

CHILDREN LAUGHING, PLAYING IN THE SAND.

BUT IM ALONE IN THIS POPULATED LAND

MY LIFE WAS FULL, MY LIFE COMPLEAT .

ADDICTION GRABED ME , LEFT ME ON THE STREET.

NO ONE TO TURN TO NOWHERE TO GO.

MY LIFE IN TATTERS, NOTHING TO SHOW.

HABIT GRBBED ME, STRIPPED ME BARE,

MY HUSBAND GONE , CHILDREN IN CARE.

How many like me are in this place,

Fighting to stay in the human race.

A nod a smile is all i ask for,

Someone to offer me an open door.

I’m not a robber, a thief or a liar ,

So why do you think you’re any higher.

I will try again to turn my life around,

Once more plant my feet upon solid ground.

Maybe one day my children will forgive me,

Become the mother they want me to be.

maybe one day the world will be less cruel,

I know in my heart ive been a fool.

If theres a god up there in the sky,

Reach out to me and i will try...
